Report Highlights Successes of Global AIDS Funding, Urges U.S. Government to Increase Investment 

 

November 30, 2009—amfAR’s new issue brief, released in conjunction with the IDSA Center for Global Health Policy, highlights the growing need for the U.S. government to scale-up global AIDS programming to build on tangible successes made possible by previous and current funding. Achievements of U.S. government-sponsored global funding, as outlined in the report, include changing the trajectory of the AIDS pandemic, helping the treatment and prevention of other diseases, and strengthening the primary care and health services in countries whose populations are most affected by HIV/AIDS.
