BIZBASH SELECTS amfAR NEW YORK GALA AS ONE OF NEW YORK'S TOP 100 EVENTS
The amfAR New York Gala gains recognition from event industry leader BizBash as one of the most influential events making an impact in New York.
March 4, 2014 — From advertising and technology, to fashion, entertainment, sports, and more, BizBash has curated its 2014 list of New York’s Top 100 Events—and has named the amfAR New York Gala to this exclusive list. To choose and rank the Top 100 list, BizBash considers several factors including economic impact, buzz, innovation, and the event’s prominence within the communities it intends to serve.
The 2014 amfAR New York Gala was full of memorable moments. In a poignant Award of Courage presentation, Liam Neeson made a surprise appearance as presenter to Vanessa Redgrave and Joely Richardson. Photographer Peter Lindbergh was also honored, receiving his award from Robin Wright. Harry Belafonte, Chelsea Clinton, and Kenneth Cole spoke eloquently, Jane Krakowski and Grammy Award-winning Nile Rodgers & CHIC performed, and the inimitable Grace Jones brought the evening to a dazzling climax with an unforgettable hula-hooping, tabletop performance. The evening raised $1.7 million amfAR’s AIDS research programs.
