amfAR-funded researchers are studying COVID recovery in people with and without HIV

Researchers are seeking participants for an amfAR-funded study of the long-term effects of COVID-19 in people with and without HIV. Investigators from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine are looking for people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last four weeks.

For individuals who are interested in participating, the study involves discussing your experience with COVID with research staff over the phone. A certified phlebotomist will come to your home, or any other convenient location, to obtain 2 blood samples over the course of 3 months.

Participants can be HIV positive or HIV negative, English or Spanish speakers, living anywhere in the U.S. within the contiguous 48 states. They can expect to be compensated $25 per study event, or $50 total if both study events are completed.

The Principal Investigator of this study is Dr. Annie Antar, Johns Hopkins. Co-Investigators are Dr. Alan Landay, Rush University, and Dr. Michael Peluso, UCSF. Please visit https://www.covidrecoverystudy.org/ or email COVIDRecovery@jhmi.edu to learn more and enroll.
