We are here in Washington, D.C., attending an amfAR-sponsored consultation on the linkage between human rights and health. Over the past two days, about 60 leaders in the fields of HIV and MSM as well as LGBT rights from all over the world—Guyana, France, Thailand, Senegal, Brazil, Tajikistan, and more—have been developing recommendations for the U.S. government’s global AIDS program support for programming aimed at MSM and informed by human rights concerns. Once completed, we will draft and share a comprehensive report, so check back at www.amfar.org in early 2011. In the meantime, click here for access to presentation materials from consultation participants.
